1、 The 808 hair removal system and the IPL system are the same if you analyze them from the system.
The difference in configuration is that the power supply system is different and the structure of the handpiece is different.
But the difference with the IPL is that the 808 hair removal instrument must use the TEC cooling system or compressor cooling system. Otherwise, the laser’s heat dissipation is not able to keep up.
2、The output spectrum of the two instruments is not the same: IPL handpiece output is strong light, wavelength 640nm-1200nm (other skin rejuvenation band 530nm-1200nm); 808 handpiece output is laser: a single wavelength of 808nm.
The 808nm wavelength penetrates the deepest, from the skin structure we know that the target tissue hair follicle is in the dermis, so to get to the ideal hair removal wavelength or 808nm. but the wavelength between 640nm-1200nm can reach the dermis, but also can remove hair. So we can conclude from this that the 808 laser hair removal effect is better than IPL hair removal.
3、 The light spot of the two instruments is not the same. Beauty instrument market photonic handpiece universal light spot has 10mm * 50mm, 10mm * 40mm, 8mm * 40mm, and so on;
808 handpiece spot size: 10mm * 10mm, 12mm * 12mm, 120mm * 14mm, 14mm * 14mm, etc.;
As the IPL handpiece and 808 laser handpiece structure principle is different, resulting in the two equipment spot is very different.
4、The energy density is not the same. As the light spot is not the same, so the output energy density is also different. IPL system energy density can be 2J/cm²-50J/cm²; and 808 laser system energy density can be 5J/cm²-100J/cm² (of course in the treatment process is not the more energy the better).
5、The pulse widths are not the same. IPL laser generally have a single pulse setting of less than 30ms (any larger pulse width and the output square wave drops off badly); whereas the 808 laser can have a single pulse width of up to 300ms, where the waveform is still a perfect square wave.
6、 Life span is different; it is well known that the lamp in the IPL handpiece is a consumable. After a certain amount of flashes, the energy attenuation is severe.
